Gereja AyamGereja Ayam, also known as the Chicken Church, is an unique building located near Yogyakarta. It was built in the 1990s by a local pastor, Daniel Alamsjah, who envisioned a church shaped like a dove. Although it was ment to be a dove, most people think the building looks like a chicken.
The dove meant to symbolize peace and love. It building was meant to draw people from various backgrounds, to promote unity and spirituality.

The church, while not finished and officially recognized as a formal place of worship, has become a tourist attraction and a symbol of faith and dedication.

  • Getting there: Located to the west of Borobudur Temple, approximately 45 km from the city of Jogjakarta
  • Combine your experienc: Before or after visiting the Chicken Church,  you can visit Puthuk Setumbu or the Borobudur temple.
